Cystopteris bulbifera is a common fern in eastern North America, particularly in moist, rocky habitats with calcareous substrate. This species is distinguished from other Cystopteris in its range by its long, narrowly lanceolate leaves and asexual bulbils which are borne on the underside of its leaves. This species frequently forms dense colonies
