According to Proctor’s (1989) Ferns of Puerto Rico, this taxon is known only from two localities, both of them old masonry. The population photographed here was growing on the walls of El Morro, the seaside castle in Old San Juan.

Its hard not to be charmed by Didymoglossum. The abundant false veins help to diagnose this species. It is found at mid-elevations throughout tropical America.
