Lastreopsis killippii is a monster of a plant. It can be diagnosed by it pinna-rachis architecture, reddish-brown scales, and enormous size. This collection was the first time I had encountered it in the field. Despite having previously studied herbarium specimens, I had no idea what it was when I met the real thing.
