We assume this plant is the diploid Asplenium trichomanes based upon habitat; it is growing in serpentine tallus. Apart from spore size, it is nearly indistinguishable from A. quadrivalens (=A. trichomanes subsp. trichomanes), however that species is restricted to limestone and other alkaline buffered substrates.
Hymenophyllum imbricatum
This taxon is diagnosed by the entire margins, large round involucres, and broadly winged rachis and petiole. Hymenophyllum bamlerianum Rosenst. is a widely applied synonym.
