    Hi Myriam,

I think the fern in the first photo is Macrothelypteris torresiana…it is not the same as the species in the rest of the photos. It is the plant with broadly triangular leaves that are very divided.

The species in the other photos appears to be a Thelypteris, but I don’t know what species.

    Thank you very much Wes,
I am sorry, I have posted the wrong photo, which is like you say another and possibly Macrothelypteris torresiana. I had photographed both ferns shortly after each other and got confused.
I found the right one now of the entire fern, but i don’t see an option to add it here.

      Hi Myriam,

If needed, send me the photo and I will add it to the slideshow.

Hi, Myriam! I agree with Weston regarding the first photo: it’s Macrothelypteris torresiana. But the other plant is not a Thelypteris, but a Ctenitis specie, probably C. submarginalis (Langsd. & Fisch.) Ching, a common plant in open places in Southeastern Brazil. (Take a look on the rhachis, Weston: there are scales).
    Best to you!

    Thanks to all!
Yes, that’s right Vinicius, the Ctenitis cf. submarginalis fern was growing in a forest clearance on a steep hill close to were I had my stay with my Brazilian friends. I passed by it every day to go down to the river..
I’ll send you a photo of the whole fern Nathan.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I agree that Ctenitis submarginalis is probably the correct name for this. I will update the post.
