According to Mickel & Beitel (1988), this beautiful pendent species [treated as Lycopodium myrsinites Lam.] “is conspicuous by its broad, short sterile leaves and much-reduced sporophylls.” It is known from Mexico to Costa Rica, Hispaniola, and northern South America.

Note that there are a few expanded leaves in the reduced fertile section….this is a nice character for this species.
Thanks for the helpful tip! This species was so beautiful in the field because of its hanging stems and pale green microphylls. The dimorphic leaves in the fertile section make it even more attractive!
