Hi, is this not a synonym of Spinulum annotinum (L.) A. Haines? What’s the latest on that name? I have usually had North American populations of the equivalent plant identified to me under the name Spinulum and not Lycopodium, but there seems to be some disagreement. I am new to lycophyte identification generally.
It is, and I agree, Spinulum is a useful genus to recognize. I have updated the post to reflect this classification. Thanks for pointing that out!
