by | Jan 4, 2015 | Ferns, Florula, Observations | 0 comments

Gymnosphaera salvinii is one of two Neotropical species in the genus. The others are Paleotropical.  The conspicuous skeletonized lower pinnae (aphlebia) characterize the clade. The functional significance of aphlebia, if there is any, is unknown.
