Great photos! Is that a reddish young leaf (it seems that D. lechleri is not the only one after all)? And are those [huge] mucilage canals in the rhizome? Amazing!
I’ve always wanted to see good pictures of D. macrophyllum. It resembles a new species that I described with Claudine a couple of years ago, but is definitely different (will post some pictures here soon).
Really cool. In the picture, the leaf shape of this one reminds me vaguely of Dryopteris goldiana….the specimen doesn’t make me think that, though!
Fernando, I’m not sure if that leaf is reddish or not. I had not noticed the coloration previously. I wonder if it could be the indument and not the leaf tissue.
Yes, I think those are very large mucilage canals. Aren’t they fantastic? The biggest I have ever seen.
