Wonderful pictures! This species reminds me of Diplazium plantaginifolium (L.) Urb.
Is that a proliferous bud at the base of the fertile lamina?

Yes, it is a proliferous bud, sometimes it appears at the base or the tip of leaves. The leaf shapes of this species are very variable: simple, lobed, imparipinnate. I think D. plantaginifolium is less various.
Sorry for not taking clear details of it.

Hi – nice plant. Are the variable leaf forms consistent within a plant, or are they variable? I am wondering because of the possibility of hybridization with species with more divided leaves.
